The Paris administrative court of appeal lifted the suspension of construction work on the aquatic center on Tuesday.

The Paris administrative court of appeal was sensitive to the arguments of the city of Aubervilliers.

After examining, last Wednesday, the amending permit that the latter presented to it concerning the future aquatic center of Fort d'Aubervilliers, the court decided on Tuesday to lift the suspension of the construction site.

Suspension decided in a previous judgment dated September 20.

The city of Aubervilliers had therefore embarked on a process of regularization by forced march.

Because time is running out.

The Fort d'Aubervilliers swimming pool must be delivered before the 2024 Olympic Games to be able to serve as a training pool for swimmers, within the framework of the competitions.

The project is costed at 33.6 million euros, including 10 million financed by the Solideo, the delivery company of Olympic works.

“We are in the same situation as for the Aire des vents.

It is the Olympic law which prevails ”, reacts annoyed Jean-Marie Baty, president of MNLE 93, the national movement of fight for the environment, while referring to the resumption of the construction site of the village of the media, to Dugny, again after the rejection of appeals from environmental opponents.

In Aubervilliers, defenders of the environment were notably opposed to the concomitant destruction at the site of the swimming pool of 17 plots (out of 273) of allotment gardens.
