The corona situation in Bavaria is dramatic.

The intensive care beds are becoming scarce, the incidences are rising.

From Wednesday, November 24th, strict measures will therefore apply.

An overview.

Munich - The corona pandemic had lost much of its fright in the summer.

The vaccination rates rose, the incidences * fell.

Almost everything was possible again, only the mask requirement was probably a reminder that the pandemic had not yet been declared completely over.

Then, around the middle of October, the number of new infections rose again, and exponential growth picked up at a dramatic pace.

In view of the difficult situation, the Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) acted with a series of massive tightening of the rules, which will apply from Wednesday, November 24th.

Corona in Bavaria: Massive tightening of the rules - that now applies in the Free State

As part of a government declaration in the Bavarian state parliament, the CSU boss explained once again why the tough measures are now indispensable - and promoted compulsory vaccination for everyone at the beginning of the new year.

In order to break the dynamic of the current wave, from which the Free State in particular is suffering, the Bavarian cabinet has now passed a package of measures that for some regions even means a lockdown for all.

The following overview shows the most important rules that now apply in Bavaria.

  • Contact restrictions for unvaccinated people:

A maximum of five unvaccinated people from two households are allowed to meet.

Children under 12 years of age are not counted, nor are vaccinated and convalescent people.

  • Cultural and sporting events:

All cultural and sporting events may have a maximum of 25 percent spectators.

For example at opera and theater performances, sporting events or trade fairs.

In addition, the 2G-Plus regulation applies here (i.e. access only for vaccinated and convalescent + required negative rapid test)

  • Universities, driving schools, adult education centers and music schools:

Access only for vaccinated and convalescent people, i.e. 2G.

This also applies to services that are close to the body, i.e. for hairdressers and cosmetic companies.

Only medical, therapeutic and nursing services are exempt from the 2G rule

  • Retail:

Regardless of whether retail or wholesale, the 2G rule does not apply, so everyone has access: However, ten square meters of sales area must be available for each customer.

This means that fewer customers are allowed per store at the same time.

  • Night gastronomy:

    Bars, clubs and

    pubs

    have to close completely.

The rest of the catering trade has a curfew from 10 p.m.

  • Christmas markets:

All Christmas markets in Bavaria have been canceled.

  • Schools and daycare centers:

Unlike in previous lockdowns, schools and daycare centers should remain open.

However, regular tests must still be carried out; a mask requirement (OP or FFP2) also applies in the classroom.

Corona in Bavaria: These rules now apply - lockdown for hotspots

The new corona rules apply to all of Bavaria.

The Bavarian Interior Minister Herrmann announced that all rules should be "massively" controlled.

There should also be severe penalties.

Counties and cities, which have an incidence of 1000, are going into a lockdown - for those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered.

The following rules then apply there:

  • The restaurants, hotels, sports and cultural facilities must close, leisure, sports and cultural events of all kinds are prohibited.

Unlike initially planned, however, hairdressers are now allowed to remain open.

    (Status: 23.11.)

  • If the incidence falls below the 1,000 limit for at least five days, the rules are lifted.
