The number of new corona infections in North Rhine-Westphalia continues to rise significantly.
The seven-day incidence climbed to 249.0 on Tuesday, according to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).
On Monday, the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days was still given as 229.1 and a week ago as 176.6.
However, the NRW incidence was still well below the national average of almost 400.
Düsseldorf - In NRW, according to the RKI, 52 people died in connection with Covid-19 within 24 hours.
That's a significant increase compared to the previous day when four deaths were reported.
The highest seven-day incidence was in the Minden-Lübbecke district on Tuesday with 377.1, followed by the Oberbergischer Kreis (360.3) and Leverkusen (356.9).
The Soest district had the lowest value at 123.6.
The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days rose to 4.22 on Tuesday morning, according to the state government.
The previous day the hospitalization incidence was given as 3.92.
The value plays an essential role in assessing the occurrence of the infection.
If the limit values 3, 6 and 9 are exceeded, the federal states can impose stricter measures to combat the pandemic.
