A serious traffic accident occurred last Monday on the B2 near Heroldsberg (Erlangen-Höchstadt district).
One of the drivers was killed.
Erlangen - A 28-year-old woman drove on Monday afternoon (November 22nd) around 3 p.m. with two small children in her VW Sharan on the B2 towards Heroldsberg.
As the Bavarian police wrote in a press release, a man with his VW Polo crossed the B2 in the direction of Nuremberg at the same time.
There was a head-on collision near the entrance to the waterworks.
The VW Polo was thrown into the ditch and the driver was seriously injured and died on the spot.
The driver came to the hospital with minor injuries, the children were uninjured.
After a fatal accident: fire brigade and police helicopter in action
In addition to the emergency services and a police helicopter, the volunteer fire brigades Heroldsberg, Großgeschaidt, Kalchreut with a fire brigade support group were on duty.
The entire B2 was closed for five hours due to the rescue measures.
Further investigations to clarify the Erlangen-Land police station are ongoing, and an expert was also called in.
