The North Rhine-Westphalian FDP leader and family minister Joachim Stamp was one of the first liberal top politicians to be open to a general vaccination requirement in Germany.
“Personally, I can imagine it, yes,” said Stamp after several questions from presenter Frank Plasberg on the ARD program “Hart aber fair” on Monday evening.
Düsseldorf - Stamp said that a constitutional lawyer had convinced him at the weekend: "It is also a learning process from all of us."
The FDP had recently signaled that certain professional groups would give in to a possible corona vaccination.
A general compulsory vaccination has not yet been borne by the party.
The FDP health politician Christine Aschenberg-Dugnus recently told the “Bild” newspaper: “Putting the general vaccination requirement as a threat does not help anyone.” The deputy FDP parliamentary group leader Michael Theurer said on the TV channel Bild am Sonntag on a general compulsory vaccination: "We consider it unconstitutional." dpa
