A two-year-old toddler from Limousin, Cyprus, has died, apparently from a violent bacterium.
The toddler's parents are Israeli and he was in an Israeli kindergarten in the city.
There is a fear that other children have also been infected with the bacterium, when other children became ill and one of them is in a serious condition and is on her way to Israel for local medical treatment.
All kindergarten children will undergo a test to find the meningococcal bacterium and a corona test.
A source in the Ministry of Health said: "I do not know about the bacterium. I know about a two-year-old Israeli child who died and another baby, who is being transferred to medical care in Israel. We are in contact with the families and help as much as possible."
