The Jewish doctor and kindergarten teacher was murdered by a Muslim neighbor, but he was not prosecuted after it was determined that he was not responsible for his actions.

Members of a parliamentary inquiry committee headed by French MP Meir Habib arrived this week, for the first time since the assassination, at the apartment of Sarah Halimi who was murdered by her Muslim neighbor four years ago.

The commission is examining the potential shortcomings during the affair that upset France after no trial took place on the grounds that the killer was not responsible for his actions at the time of the act.

About two months ago, a parliamentary inquiry was opened in France to examine the events in the Sarah Heli case.

The committee was opened after months of struggle by MP Meir Habib and after the signing of 80 MPs.

Members of the delegation at the scene of the murder of Sarah Halimi,

Kovili Traura, the killer of Sarah Halimi was not prosecuted due to the fact that he smoked cannabis and it was determined that he was not responsible for his actions at the time of the murder.

The committee, chaired by French MP Meir Habib, began a series of hearings by those involved in the affair: members of the Halimi family, lawyers from both sides, witnesses and more.

The goal: to shed light on a number of troubling questions in the case and perhaps, as Halimi's family hopes, to arrive at new evidence and data that will allow the trial to reopen.

As part of the inquiry committee, representatives arrived this week for the first time since the murder of Sara Halimi's apartment.

Accompanied by the victim's brother, William Attell, committee members entered and closely examined the murder scene that remained as it was at the time of the murder.

Personal items of the late Sarah Halimi,

MP Meir Habib, who heads the committee, said: "It was very, very difficult. We arrived with the committee members at the murder scene in Sara Halimi's apartment. We saw the modest apartment and tried to imagine how this tragedy happened and the last moments of her life alone with the barbaric killer and no one. "He did not come to help despite the presence in the area of several policemen who were called to the building. Arriving at the scene helped us better understand the environment of the events that night and strengthened the questions and insights that have arisen to this day."

The MP explained that the arena is indicative of contradictions in Traore's version: "Given the location of the balcony, the killer could have thrown Sarah Halimi only from a height of about 120 square meters but he dragged her to the edge of the balcony to fall from the 3rd floor.

During the interrogation, the killer Kovili Traore testified that he went into a frenzy after seeing a "Jewish lamp" in her apartment (referring to a menorah) and a Torah scroll.

As we have seen, there is no lamp or menorah in the apartment and no Torah scrolls. "

The balcony from which the late Sarah Halimi was thrown,

Habib further added that more and more concrete data and facts indicate an early planning of the murder and thus cast doubt on the fact that the murder occurred as a result of a psychiatric attack after massive smoking as the current ruling in the case.

MP Meir Habib stressed: "It should be understood that the killer can be released at any moment. He is now hospitalized in a mental health hospital but once his treatment is over or the doctors determine he is healthy, he will be allowed to go free by law."

Sarah Halimi, 65, a doctor and retired French gardener, was attacked and murdered in her apartment for antisemitic motives.

Halimi was then the only Jew living in the building, and the killer, Kabili Traora, a tenant in the building and a member of a family located in Mali in central Africa, shouted "Allah Akbar" as he stabbed Halimi and threw her from the balcony of her house.

He then declared "I have killed the devil."
