French police today arrested 13 people belonging to a far-right group who were planning to obtain weapons and form armed groups.
French media quoted security sources as saying that the arrests took place in the Paris region and its suburbs and in southern France, indicating that the detainees belonged to a group called “the Recolonization of France” and were planning to acquire weapons, including soldiers who planned to form armed groups in the event of a civil war due to refugees.
The sources indicated that the aforementioned detainees were monitored in the summer of last year and have been under observation since then.
It is noteworthy that the French authorities have made several arrests in recent years against right-wing extremists, who usually call for the use of violence against immigrants.
