Mayor Edwin Klostermeier (SPD) is proud and happy.

“The winning design was my favorite from the start.

So my gut feeling was right, this is exactly the right high school for Putzbrunn. ”We are talking about the concept for the new school in town.

Cleaning well

- After two days of intensive work, the seven-person jury unanimously selected the winner. Architectural offices from all over Germany submitted 16 designs for the new grammar school, which is due to open in autumn 2025. The specifications were extensive: a three-storey school, a triple sports hall and outdoor sports areas, 850 bicycle parking spaces and 85 parking spaces for cars had to be built on the available space. “It was very important that the school is now planned to have four trains, but that there must already be expansion options for a fifth train. That would be 1200 to 1300 pupils, that's the maximum, ”explained Klostermeier to the many cleaning fountains who wanted to see the submitted designs and the winner in the community center. It comes from the Munich architecture firm "Peck.Daam",the greening of "Kowollik Landscape Architecture" from Markt Schwaben.

Two suggestions were dropped immediately

Klostermeier reported two days of intensive work. The architects Landherr und Werhahn initially presented all 16 submitted designs "neutrally and anonymously" and immediately pointed out their particularities. According to Klostermeier, two suggestions were immediately rejected because they could not be implemented. A second round followed, which went into a little more detail, after which six drafts remained. “They were presented to us in great detail and each of the seven jurors - architects, consultants, politicians and their deputies, if one of them fails after the first day - gave a written evaluation including the order.” To his great joy, they all chose their personal favorite. "There are still small improvements, such as the number of bicycle parking spaces, but otherwise this is really the perfect high school for Putzbrunn, ”said Klostermeier.

Cars underground and all bikes under trees

He mentioned some wild suggestions, for example all car and bike parking spaces in a large underground car park. “One of them even wanted to put the bicycles in the second basement - but no student rides his bike two floors down, they all stay upstairs. We have so much experience in the district with student behavior, ”said Klostermeier. The winning design has all cars underground and all bicycles under trees above ground. The house will have a wooden facade, the roof will be partially green, provided with a PV system and part of it will serve as a sports area. "This is really a great design and a worthy winner," agreed Volker Rentschler Klostermeier, former Green Councilor.

The winning architects will now be invited to follow-up talks in December, in January 2022 all sectors involved will be able to submit their wishes, and in May the association will make the final decision as the builder.

“The building application will follow by the end of 2022 and construction should start at the beginning of 2023.

The opening will be in September 2025. "
