At the beginning of this month, the police seized 10 modified speedboats commonly known as "Da Fei" and 57 outboard engines in a warehouse on Lung Kwu Tan Road, Tuen Mun.
The family company of Heung Yee Kuk Chairman Liu Yeqiang is accused of being the big landlord of the largest warehouse involved.
Liu pointed out earlier that he was unaware of the incident and seldom got involved with the family company.
However, Liu pointed out that when a related video was released by a network station, the content involved defamation of him. He filed a lawsuit with the High Court yesterday (22nd), requesting the removal of the film and a written apology from the network station.
The plaintiff is Liu Yeqiang, and the defendant is the person who runs the YouTube channel "Flag Raising Easy Way".
The plaintiff is filing a complaint that the defendant released a video on the 10th of this month, which involved defamation of the plaintiff and seriously damaged the reputation of the plaintiff. He was also stressed, anxious and embarrassed because of this.
As of the 15th of this month, more than 160,000 videos have been watched.
The filing continued that the defendant knew that the content of the film was not true and did not attempt to verify with the plaintiff.
The release of the film coincided with the plaintiff’s participation in the Legislative Council election, and the incident harmed the plaintiff’s reputation.
The plaintiff now asks the court to issue an injunction order prohibiting the defendant from making any further statements that slander the plaintiff.
The plaintiff also requested the defendant to remove the film involved, apologize in writing, and make compensation.
Liu Yeqiang will participate in the Legislative Council election to be held next month and will elect the functional constituency of the Heung Yee Kuk subsector. Mok Kam Kwai, the vice chairman of the Heung Yee Kuk, also participates in the election of this subsector.
