The branch of the General Organization for Road Transport in Aleppo has carried out road maintenance works, construction and rehabilitation of bridges that were damaged by terrorism, with a financial value of 4 billion and 414 million Syrian pounds, since the beginning of this year to date.
The director of the Foundation’s branch, Engineer Ali Al-Khuwaylid, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the executed works included the maintenance of Aleppo-Tal Al-Dhaman highway at a cost of 394 million Syrian pounds, the Aleppo-Raqqa highway with a value of 400 million pounds, with a completion rate of 98 percent, and the maintenance and rehabilitation of the 28-km-long Aleppo Azaz highway, with a value of 287 million Syrian pounds, with a completion rate of 80 Percent, maintenance and rehabilitation of the Aleppo-Damascus route from node zero, west of Aleppo to Saraqib, at a cost of 400 million Syrian pounds.
Al-Khuwaylid added that maintenance and rehabilitation works were carried out on Aleppo-Khanasir-Athreya-Salameh Road within Aleppo Governorate, at a cost of 235 million pounds, maintenance of the new Aleppo-Manbij-Qarkouzzak road, with a length of 22 km, at a value of 244 million pounds, and maintenance and improvement of bridges on the Aleppo-Damascus International Road, starting from the entrance to Aleppo, the Abu Shelem tunnel and the Khan Toman knot. And the Montecarlo knot and the Barqum knot worth 428 million pounds.
He pointed to the completion of the works to rehabilitate the two bridges of the irrigation canal intersecting with the Aleppo-Raqqa highway, with a value of 324 million pounds, the rehabilitation of the Deir Hafer bridges on the Aleppo-Raqqa highway, the completion of the southern extension of Aleppo, the northern branch, and the continuation of work to complete the southern branch, at a value of 180 million pounds.
Al-Khuwaylid pointed out that in the southern countryside of Aleppo, the rehabilitation work of Al-Wadhihi Bridge was completed at a cost of 385 million Syrian pounds, with a completion rate of 96 percent. Damaged concrete for the going lane and installing six new girders, at a value of 130 million Syrian pounds.
