Plastic art and heritage became identifiable in the opening days of the Syrian Culture Days (Culture, Authenticity and Renewal) at the Cultural Center in Tartous, through exhibitions of fine art, handicrafts, heritage collectibles, painting workshops and children's activities.
The events also include a book fair that includes the publications of the Ministry of Culture with discounts of up to 35 percent, cinematic shows, and the launch of the Nadim Muhammad Festival of Poetry and Criticism.
The Director of Culture in Tartous, Kamal Badran, said in a press statement that a diversified cultural program has been prepared in the various cultural centers in the governorate, which reflects the richness and cultural diversity in them.
Director of the Mujib Dawood Center for Fine Arts, Rose Merhej, indicated that the center's students and graduates participated in the art exhibition, with the establishment of drawing workshops for children in schools and the open air.
A number of artisans participating in the handicraft exhibition with this participation confirmed the importance of heritage in shaping cultural memory through various traditional works and crafts, as Siham Qassem mentioned, participating in accessories and crochet.
Nazmiya Ismail participated in pots made of pottery and bamboo due to the importance of these materials, the diversity of their uses and their ancient history.
The Abaq Musical Group, led by the artist Cesar Daya, concluded the activities of the first day of the festival with a concert entitled Abaq sings Sayed Makkawi, during which it presented a bouquet of instrumentals and songs for the great late, including yesterday night and the Zain prayer.
