Today, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, discussed with his American counterpart Mark Milley, in a telephone conversation, current issues related to international security.
"The Russian and American sides discussed, during the phone call, current issues related to international security," Sputnik quoted the ministry as saying in a statement.
In the same context, the Pentagon said that the Russian and American chiefs of staff discussed a number of security issues of concern to the two countries, adding that this phone conversation comes as a continuation of communication between the military leaders of the two countries and that the aim is to reduce risks and tension and resolve disputes quickly.
