The festive activities of the Syrian Culture Days, under the title “Culture, Authenticity and Renewal,” were launched today at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts, which include nearly 170 diverse activities in the cinematic, theatrical, intellectual and heritage fields and will continue until next Monday in various governorates.

The opening ceremony began with the screening of a documentary film that talked about the achievements of the Ministry of Culture in all its directorates and institutions affiliated with it during a whole year, according to a strategic plan and a comprehensive vision whose objectives are summed up in building the Syrian human being by consolidating moral values ​​and promoting a culture of belonging and citizenship.

In the opening speech, the Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubana Mushawah, affirmed that today we celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the establishment of this ministry, which was accompanied by hard work and sincere efforts to show the nobility of our identity, the multiplicity of its sects, the richness of its components, the harmony of its colors, the beauty of its harmony, and the disclosure of what the man of this land has given to all humanity, and the preservation of this great heritage.

The Minister stopped at the ancient Syrian archaeological heritage, which embraced dozens of civilizations and was distinguished by its diversity and uniqueness, and the archaeological exhibitions that the ministry prepared for it outside Syria in China, Japan and the Sultanate of Oman, pointing out that despite what our country has been exposed to, it is still patient and steadfast, struggling to overcome the effects of a war it fought valiantly against the forces of. Darkness and terror.

The Minister of Tourism, Eng. Mohamed Martini, the Minister of Culture and Minister of Information, Dr. Boutros Hallaq, and a member of the central leadership of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Dr. Mahdi Dakhlallah, honored the music educator Ilham Abu Saud, the writer Dr. Atef Boutros, the calligrapher artist Mohamed Al-Qadi, the film director Abdel Latif Abdel Hamid and the music researcher. Mohamed Hanania and the writer Dr. Nadia Khost.

The opening ceremony included dancing paintings by the Gulnar Ensemble and an artistic performance of Al-Qudud Al-Halabi and Al-Muwashahat salute to the late great artist Sabah Fakhri, accompanied by the Syrian Symphony Orchestra led by Maestro Andre Maalouli. The first place winners on the violin in the first national competition for young people this year presented a classical musical piece.

The Syrian symphony, led by Maestro Misak Baghboudarian, played a classical piece of music accompanied by a dance show entitled “Palmyra” that embodies the nobility of this city, its unique heritage, and its long destruction at the hands of ISIS terrorists.

The celebration of the Syrian Culture Days will continue its activities in Damascus and the governorates tomorrow with a series of activities, including honoring the winners of the literary and artistic competitions of the Ministry of Culture, holding novel, musical and plastic arts forums in Damascus and its countryside, Daraa, Hama, Deir ez-Zor, Homs, Latakia, and poetry festivals in Aleppo and Idlib.
