The Culture Palace Theater in Homs hosted the opening of festive activities for the Syrian Culture Days, with a show by the National Theater in the governorate, which belongs to the form of a satirical black comedy.
The show, titled “The Sheep,” is based on a text by the Bulgarian writer Stanislav Stratiev and directed by Zine El Abidine Tayyar, in which he sheds light on social pests and diseases that hinder the development of societies, such as corruption, in a satirical, comic style that is not devoid of symbolism of bureaucracy and rigid laws that were originally established to serve the citizen and facilitate transactions. among people, but it has become a source of misery for them because the officials assigned to implement it are rigid and indifferent to humans.
The director of the work, Zain al-Abidin Tayyar, indicated in a statement to SANA Culture that comedy has become a basic need in our current circumstances, pointing out that the script was prepared to suit our theater and the selection of clips from Bulgarian and Serbian music in harmony with the movements, performance, content and design of the decor so that it is no less important than the performance of the thirteen actors On stage, who proved their true talent during the show despite the first appearances of most of them.
It is noteworthy that the activities of the Syrian Culture Days in Homs host a variety of activities in the artistic, cinematic and theatrical fields and will continue until next Tuesday. In the coming days, the films “Damascus Aleppo” and “A Man and Three Days” will be shown, a plastic art exhibition and an orchestra concert for the Directorate of Homs Culture led by Hassan al-Labbad.
