Yes to the common tool shed, yes to the maintenance of the sports field

The Pastetten and Reithofen-Harthofen fire brigades should continue to have a common location, and the school sports field should remain in full size. These are the results of the referendums on Sunday. However, this does not yet solve the tool shed problem.

The Pastetten and Reithofen-Harthofen fire brigades should continue to have a common location, and the school sports field should remain in full size.

These are the results of the referendums on Sunday.

However, this does not yet solve the tool shed problem.

Pastettes

- The citizens of the community had about three weeks to express their opinion by voting by post. Of the 2,257 voting slips sent out, a little more than half (1397) were returned to the administration. Question number 1 concerned the fire station: Here 846 citizens voted for a common house, 532 against. Contrary to what was erroneously reported on Monday, only 19 ballot papers were invalid. The answer to question number 2 was also clear: 885 citizens voted for the preservation of the entire sports field, 506 against, six votes were not.

For Janina Schüler, one of the initiators of this desire, this is “an excellent result”.

When asked, the young mother said that in the end she no longer really wanted to believe that the vote would lead to success.

"There was already quite a bit of headwind." She sees confirmation in the number of pro votes.

It topped the already more than 700 votes with which the referendum was started.

“Now of course there is a lot of work to be done in the community,” said Schüler.

After initial skepticism, she found the fact that there was ultimately a second question on the ballot paper not so bad.

"At least you now know what the citizens want."

Horst Ippisch (FWE): "The commitment to the common house is a clear statement"

This is also how Horst Ippisch, one of the eight councilors who had approved the duplex on the sports field and who was one of the petitioners for the council, sees it. "I think it's good that the citizens were included in the question of a semi-detached house for the first time and that they clearly expressed a clear opinion," says the FWE Council. The result of the vote is not 100 percent what the advocates of a semi-detached house would have wished for on the sports field. But the result clearly shows what the Pastetteners want. "The commitment to the common house is a clear statement, we are a little further." Now is a good opportunity for the fire brigades to give in. And the administration has to look for a suitable piece of land.

Christian Lorenz (Greens): "We currently don't have a decent building site up our sleeve"

Green councilor Christian Lorenz is "only moderately pleased" with the result, as he remarks dryly.

"Unfortunately we don't have a plan B in our pockets, we don't have a decent building site up our sleeve at the moment."

Knowing that the citizens opt for a semi-detached house is a good basis for discussion.

However, the goal is to treat both defenses equally and to do so as soon as possible, a long way further away.

Mayor Peter Deischl (FWE): "It could have been a few more votes"

Mayor Peter Deischl (FWE) also knows that the semi-detached house will not be an easy task.

“We will now have to think about where we can build a house together.

Overall, however, I can handle this decision well.

A result was created that I recognize, ”he says when asked.

What counts for him is that the sports field for the school is preserved.

Regarding the rather manageable participation in the vote, he only comments cautiously: "It could have been a few more votes."

The counting of the referendums in the town hall was done by administrative staff.

The municipal councilors Andreas Wagner (BIG), Christian Lorenz (Greens), Leo Rehmann, (FWE) and Alice Lorenz (Greens) as well as Mayor Peter Deischl waited eagerly for the results.

This is a point at which Cornelia Vogelfänger becomes clear.

"The protection of their own safety and the needs of the school are apparently not so important to almost 40 percent of Pastetten residents that they take part in a vote," says the former mayor.

She was not only disappointed with the low turnout, but also with the result.

However, she thinks it is good that the decision was made in favor of the children and young people.

As mayor, Vogelfänger has dealt with the fire station issue for more than ten years.

This also included the unsuccessful search for a suitable location for a semi-detached house.

Pastetten's Commander Peter Lex: "Now the search for a suitable place starts all over again"

Peter Lex, Commander of the Pastetten fire brigade, sees that too.

"The result in this combination is the most unfavorable for the fire brigades, since the search for a suitable place starts all over again," says Lex. A request from the citizens for a semi-detached house on the sports field or two single houses and a completely preserved sports field would be feasible been.

Whether a semi-detached house can be approved at all also depends on compliance with the deadlines, which in turn depend on the location.

“We have been trying to solve the tool shed problem for almost eleven years.

Now there is no end in sight, ”said Lex.

Reithofens commander Thomas Huber "For the sports field it is good that reason has triumphed"

The Reithofen-Harthofen commander Thomas Huber sees it that way.

“For the sports field, it is good that reason has triumphed.

A semi-detached house would not have fitted there anyway. ”You could now put that on the existing property in Reithofen, which is big enough and has already been developed.

"But that would only work if the deadlines for help are irrelevant," Huber admits.

He again points out that the advantages of two decentralized weirs are currently also being shown in the spatial separation due to the corona measures.

The local council meeting on November 30th could show how things will continue.
