On March 23, 2019, a woman was attacked in Meulan-en-Yvelines (Yvelines): an individual imposed sexual touching on her.
The victim files a complaint at the Mureaux police station.

The case finally finds a favorable outcome in October 2021. The Salvac proposes a reconciliation between the sexual assault of 2019 and an attacker identified by the base, known for similar acts committed in the Yvelines in April 2020. This reconciliation is based in particular on the behavior of the perpetrator and his way of approaching his victims.

Already known to the police for acts of rape and sexual assault, the defendant was arrested on October 28 and then tried in immediate appearance at the court of Versailles.
He was sentenced to 10 months in prison.
Software used for the most serious facts
Salvac (a system for analyzing the links of violence associated with crimes) is a Canadian software program used in France since 2003. It has enabled 74 cases to be clarified since its arrival in France. Procedural elements concerning the most serious facts at the national level (homicides, rapes, sexual assaults) feed into the database of the software. These are files with criminal sensitivity: no apparent motive, no link between the perpetrator and the victim, etc.
Using this database, the Salvac group - made up of 13 specialized investigators - attempts to make connections between procedures and to highlight series of facts attributed to the same individual.
Several fields to be completed in the Salvac software (physical description of the author, means of locomotion, operating mode, geographical location, time of the incident, for example) allow these connections to be highlighted.
