Zakaria Shariqi's third plastic art forum in the celebration of the Syrian Culture Days

Within the festive activities of the Syrian Culture Days, held under the title Culture, Authenticity and Renewal, the Zakaria Shariqi Forum for Plastic Art was launched today at Dar Al-Assad for Culture in Lattakia, with the participation of a group of artists from inside and outside the governorate.

The forum, which comes this year in its third session and extends over three days, will be attended by Dr. Sawsan Maalla, Ghada Zaghbour, Amir Hamdan, Abdullah Khaddam, Natalie Mustafa, Salah Al-Bari, and Adawiya Diop. A day was also devoted to the members of the forum visiting the Al Raha Home for the Elderly to celebrate the plastic artist Laila Nasir, one of the pioneers of fine art. In Syria and the Arab world, and hosting the Colorful Meetings initiative, which includes a group of young amateurs to paint in the open air, to conclude on the third day with an exhibition of the products of the participating artists.

The plastic artist, Abdullah Khaddam, the supervisor of the forum, explained in a statement to SANA reporter the importance of the forum, which comes within the interest of the Ministry of Culture and its work to honor the cultural figures who continue to give and introduce them to the younger generations, in addition to being an opportunity for artists to meet and exchange experiences and expertise and inform the recipient about how to make artwork and the stages of its formation.

For her part, the artist Adawiya Diop saw that the forum, which bears the name of the artist Zakaria Shariqi and allows to stand on his rich and great experience, constitutes a state of honor for all artists, noting the speciality of this session by celebrating the artist Leila Nassir and her meeting with the artists in a quick drawing workshop at her place of residence in a sentimental visit to an artistic stature And a pioneer at the level of Syria and the Arab world.

Dr. Sawsan Mualla saw the forum as a stimulus for artists to come out with artistic work to the public and search for a new vision and method in drawing and artistic treatment by looking at different experiences, noting the importance of continuing these forums with the diversity of participants and the presence of young people in them.

The artist Amir Hamdan, one of the artist’s students, Shariqi, spoke about his participation for the first time in the forum, out of honoring a great professor who had the privilege of putting the feather in his hand and had a great impact on his artistic experience through his love and great giving, calling for the dedication of honoring artists in their lives and the heights of their giving.

It is worth mentioning that the writer and plastic artist Zakaria Shariqi has a number of publications in the field of short stories, novels and literary studies. He is a member of the Unions of Syrian Plastic Artists and Arab Writers and Artists. He participated in the seasonal exhibitions of the Union of Artists. He also participated in the Cuba International Festival in 1978 and obtained a diploma of honor in oil painting. He has many From individual exhibitions.
