Boris Johnson, British Prime Minister
“Yesterday I was - as we should all be - in Peppa Pig Land.
I don't know if you've been there before.
Hands up: who has been to Peppa Pig Land?
Not enough!
I wasn't quite sure what I would see in Peppa-Wutz-Land. But I thought it was great! Peppa-Wutz-Land is exactly the right place for me: The streets are safe, there is discipline in the schools, they place great value on local public transport! Even if they are a bit too stereotypical for Papa Pig for my taste.
Who would have thought, Tony, that a pig that looks like a hair dryer, like a Picasso-style hair dryer, that a pig that the BBC didn't want could be exported to 180 countries? With amusement parks in the USA, China and the New Forest [national park].
That is simply awesome! Don't you think so? Peppa Pig? No government in the world, no government official could have invented Peppa!
... with safer roads, with great schools, with fantastic broadband, with ... uh ... sorry ... sorry ... sorry ... ... people will have the confidence to stay where they grew up. They will set up companies and companies will dare to invest. "
