Taunusstein - A 25-year-old man was killed in an apartment fire in Tanusstein in southern Hesse. According to initial investigations, the young man is the resident of the apartment on fire. The fire broke out in the middle town around nine kilometers northwest of the state capital Wiesbaden on Wednesday night (November 24th, 2021), the police said. Around midnight, residents of the apartment building in Lessingstrasse in Taunusstein noticed the fire and alerted the rescue workers.
According to the police, two other residents aged 65 and 77 suffered from mild smoke inhalation.
Around 60 people were brought to safety in the multi-storey house.
The police were initially unable to provide information about the cause of the fire, the criminal police had started the investigation.
She estimated the amount of damage to be around 250,000 euros.
