The director of the branch of the General Organization for Seed Propagation in Idlib, Eng. Abdul-Aziz Bakdash, revealed the start of conducting prior field inspections on the fields of farmers who wish to contract with the branch to grow wheat and barley crops.
Bakdash explained to the SANA Economic Bulletin that the branch’s plan for the next season includes the production of 6,500 tons of wheat seed and 4,000 tons of barley from the liberated countryside of Idlib in the first and second settlement areas and around the Al-Siha area in Abu Al-Duhur countryside, indicating that wheat and barley seeds were distributed to the contracted farmers of the breeding fields.
Bakdash pointed out that the branch continues to receive farmers wishing to purchase sifted and sterilized wheat seeds in accordance with agricultural licenses issued by the Idlib Agriculture Directorate and its extension units spread in the area, noting that the seeds are of good quality and are suitable for the liberated countryside lands, according to previous experiments.
It is noteworthy that last season the branch of seed multiplication in Idlib received 3,275 tons of wheat seed and 537 tons of barley seed from the farmers of the governorate.
