The General Company for Cement and Building Materials in Hama, since the beginning of this year until the end of last October, produced 872 thousand tons of cement and 631,000 tons of clinker.
The company’s general manager, Ali Jabo, stated in a statement to SANA Economic Bulletin that the company sold 883,416 tons of cement to the public and private sectors of various types of ordinary, sulfate-resistant Portland cement, wells, and portland pozzolana, with a financial value of 111 billion and 860 million pounds, indicating that the company’s current stock Of cement, it amounts to 12,418 tons of cement and one million and 417 thousand tons of clinker, the primary and basic material used in the cement industry.
Jabo pointed out that the company sold 700,000 blocks of various sizes during the past months of this year, pointing to the increased demand from the private sector to buy materials produced in the block production unit due to their high quality and competitive price, which is less than 30% of the local market price.
He said: The company has three plants, Factory No. 2, which operates by the dry method, to produce cement of the 32.5 grade of ordinary Portland cement and the grade 42.5 wells to serve the oil wells of the Ministry of Oil and the public sectors, which covered the market needs of these two grades with national hands and expertise instead of the trend to import them from abroad with a production capacity It is about 950 tons per day, indicating that Plant No. 3 produces ordinary and pozzolanic Portland cement, with a production capacity of 3,000 tons per day, while Plant No. 1 produces well cement and sulfate-resistant cement.
For his part, Eng. Mukhles Shartouh, Production Manager in the company, pointed out that there is a suffering from a shortage of manpower, but this shortage is being remedied by motivating workers with encouraging productive incentives to work, which contributed to the stability of the production process, indicating that the number of the company’s workers is about 1,100 workers divided into 3 shifts.
The sales of Hama Cement Company during the past year amounted to about 49 billion Syrian pounds.
