First revelations in 2018

This is not the first time that the former host of TF1 has been targeted by accusations of sexual violence.

In February 2018, a first survey by “L'Ebdo”, a weekly that has now disappeared, scratched the image of the then favorite politician of the French.

The ephemeral magazine revealed the existence of a complaint for "an act of rape" filed in 2018. The complaint had been classified "without follow-up", the facts being "prescribed".

The facts dated back to the summer of 1997. At the time, a young 20-year-old apprentice photographer was allegedly abused by Nicolas Hulot. The newspaper delivered his testimony, on condition of anonymity. It was actually Pascale Mitterrand, granddaughter of the former President of the Republic and daughter of her son Gilbert. That year, the young woman had spent a week in the Corsican house of the star host of TF1, at the request of her employer, the photo agency Sipa. According to his statements, it was during this stay that the facts took place.

At the time, Nicolas Hulot denied the rumors targeting him, calling them "ignominious".

In the process, he had received the support of several members of the government, in particular that of the Prime Minister of the time, Édouard Philippe, judging that there was "no reason to doubt his word".
