The municipalities of Wörth and Walpertskirchen spend a lot of money to retrofit the children's home and elementary school with stationary ventilation and air conditioning systems.

This also takes into account the protection against infection.

Hörlkofen / Walpertskirchen

- Both Wörth and Walpertskirchen are making considerable investments in retrofitting the children's home and primary school with stationary ventilation and air conditioning systems. Both municipalities can access the 80 percent grant from a federal funding program that expires at the end of the year. The grant commitments are available. Expert Wolfgang Moises from Wörth was commissioned with the feasibility study and the installation.

At the meeting on Monday, the Wörth committee gave the green light for equipping the municipal children's home in Hörlkofen with the adjoining rooms in the old town hall. A total of 18 rooms with a stay function are to receive the systems for infection protection. As the engineer for energy and environmental technology explained, these have a CO2 sensor to provide fresh air if necessary. In addition, the systems are equipped with a heat recovery system and are extremely quiet.

The overall measure with a larger cost buffer for "unforeseen events" is estimated to be around 426,000 euros, with Wörth having to pay around 85,200 euros. It is also an investment in the future in terms of energy savings. The children's house is then comparable to a passive house. Deputy Mayor Ulla Dieckmann (SPD) said there was no alternative to the purchase and should be made to protect children and staff. “A great thing,” commented Thomas Altmann (SPD / party-free). Mayor Thomas Gneißl (ÜPWG) said about the scope that one “went to the best” and was “in the best, competent hands”.

The municipality of Walpertskirchen is retrofitting five rooms of the primary school including the sports hall with the same stationary systems by unanimous decision of the council. It should be expected here with 250,000 euros, with the municipal share is around 50,000 euros. The old school building already has such a system.

The feasibility study assumed a maximum of nine rooms for the retrofitting, which would have meant a total of around 360,000 euros. After the school kitchen was operated with an exhaust air system, other rooms such as the teachers' room, the work and handicraft area would not be used permanently, and these rooms could be ventilated and provided with mobile air purification devices, the committee decided unanimously to exclude these four rooms. Two classrooms, the multi-purpose room, the sports hall and the physics room, on the other hand, are to be equipped. The latter is also used by the open all-day school, and the multi-purpose hall and room are also used outside of school.

"A sensible investment," said Mayor Franz Hörmann (CSU) about the slimmed-down version.

Green Council Stephan Glaubitz considered it practicable to equip the less frequented rooms with the mobile air purification devices that were already purchased.

Josef Glockshuber (FW) asked how much the annual maintenance costs, since the stationary systems had to be cleaned regularly and the filters replaced.

The expert replied, depending on whether the building yard undertakes certain work and the extent to which a maintenance company is commissioned.

Warranty issues are an important criterion for a contract with a maintenance company.

Christian Büchlmann (FW) wanted to know whether the equipment was available, which was answered in the affirmative.

However, it is advisable to order these soon because of the great demand.

Katharina Bublak (FW) asked when the installation should take place and whether teaching would be impaired.

They wanted to use the Easter and Whitsun holidays for this, replied Moises.

This time limit also applies to Wörth.
