China announced today that it will use its reserves of oil in cooperation with other countries to reduce fuel prices.
"Given its current needs and conditions, China will use its crude oil reserves and take other necessary measures to maintain market stability," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian was quoted by AFP as saying.
The United States and other countries have previously announced the start of using their strategic oil reserves, in an attempt to stop the sharp rise in global oil prices and the resulting fuel crisis.
