On Wednesday, the traffic light parties presented the first key messages of their negotiated coalition agreement.
Before the designated Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz came to the program of the SPD, FDP and the Greens, the SPD politician spoke about the current Corona situation.
That is currently the most pressing issue.
"The situation is serious," says Scholz.
The traffic light parties have decided to take decisive steps to curb the pandemic.
These must now be implemented consistently.
A permanent federal-state staff will be set up in the Chancellery.
The crisis team for the corona situation should therefore be set up before the new government is in office.
It is about a good transition, said Scholz on Wednesday in Berlin.
"We would also like the scientific support differently." The planned government wants to have precisely discussed proposals and to know how the situation is developing in individual areas.
"Clear, orderly action is required here."
"Now it is a question of a clear, resolute policy"
The corona rules that came into force on Wednesday, for example on 3G at work and in public transport, went beyond what was previously possible in Germany.
"Now it is a question of a clear, resolute policy," said Scholz.
In addition, according to Scholz, the traffic light is in favor of compulsory vaccination in certain facilities with risk groups.
"Vaccination is the way out of this pandemic," he said.
"In facilities in which particularly vulnerable groups are cared for, we should make vaccination compulsory."
Scholz left the option open to expand the measure if necessary.
Nursing staff should receive a new bonus because of the particular stresses and strains of the corona crisis.
The future traffic light coalition partners have agreed to provide one billion euros for this, said Scholz.
“Together we have it in our hands to break this bad fourth wave.
The new federal government will do everything necessary to get our country through this time well, «said Scholz.
