The second day of the Syrian Culture Days in Tartous witnessed the launch of the late Nadim Muhammad Festival for Poetry and Criticism, at the Arab Cultural Center in the city.

Kamal Badran, Director of Culture in the governorate, emphasized in his speech the rich journey of the poet Muhammad and his distinction in his language, which appears to be available to everyone despite the treasures it contains, considering that the talented creator is the one who extracts the valuable material, highlights its capabilities, and treats it with his psychological, cognitive and philosophical laboratory.

After that, a short film prepared by the Media Office of the Directorate of Culture entitled “In the presence of the Nadeem” was shown, shedding light on the stages of the life of the late, who was called the poet of pain, followed by a critical reading of his life and poetry presented by the head of the Book Union branch in Tartous, Munther Issa, who stood on Muhammad’s poetic journey full of events His distinction and superiority since his young age through his mastery of Arabic and writing poetry at an early age and his tendency to rebellion and his style of writing poetry and his national thought and his influence on cognitive sciences in Western culture which was manifested in his lyrical poetry.

Among the activities of the day is the launch of the “My Heritage is a Trust” initiative for children and young people in Al-Basel Park to introduce how heritage is collected and preserved, with an open-air children’s drawing workshop in the same place held by the Mujib Dawood Center for Fine Arts, in addition to the theatrical performance “Al-Nadam” for the children of the integrated learning program produced by the skills team. Life by director Hassan Nasr, which emphasizes the value of recognizing mistakes and returning from them and the importance of social solidarity.

The activities of the second day concluded with a poetry evening, in which a number of the province’s poets presented patriotic, social and romantic poems, including the poet Linda Ibrahim, who praised the celebration of the great poet Nadim Muhammad within the days of Syrian culture in honor of his legacy, status, production, and rich and refined achievement.

Various cultural activities and cinematic shows were also held in Sheikh Badr, Safita, Al-Drekish and Baniyas cultures.
