The place where toys were once sold is now perhaps the most essential part of the expansion: a restaurant. About a quarter of the newly gained space is used by Daily's - a restaurant in which Klinke and her colleagues pursue a concept that fits the fitness studio: "Healthy, fresh food and drinks are offered," says Anna Klinke. Smoothies and bowls can be found on offer, as well as coffee and cake.

The restaurant also has an outdoor area - at least until the planned renovation of the cattle marketplace.

Above all, one thing is important to Klinke: the restaurant is not only open to Hardy's customers.

“We are open to everyone.

The Daily's should help to liven up the cattle marketplace.

"We are also planning one or the other event as soon as that is possible again," says the managing director with a view to Corona.

The pandemic made the conversion difficult, but not impossible.

A big advantage was that the family around her father Reinhard Klinke owned the former X department store.

“Our house bank also supports us very well,” says the managing director.

Last but not least, she hopes that the expanded range will also bring many new customers - or maybe come back.

Anna Klinke reports that around a quarter of customers were lost due to the lockdowns in the corona crisis.

As an argument in favor of the studio, Klinke and her team throw some new areas into the ring: After the renovation, a separate room for spinning - also known as indoor cycling - will be available.

Work was ongoing for almost a year before the renovation was officially opened with a celebration.

The festival had to be smaller than planned due to Corona - without a live band, but with a DJ.

The MPs Katrin Staffler (Bundestag) and Benjamin Miskowitsch (Landtag) as well as Mayor Erich Raff and numerous city councilors got an idea of ​​Hardy's.

Until a few days ago, the studio looked like a major construction site.

“But we really stepped on the gas so that everything was ready on time,” says Anna Klinke.

There are just a few cosmetic subtleties left to do.

However, the new rooms are already fully usable.

The expansion of Hardy's does not end there.

The second conversion phase will follow in the coming year.

Then the wellness area will be expanded to include a swimming pool, among other things.

In addition, a new physiotherapy and yoga lounge are to be built.

The trainers Christine Schneider and Anastasios Makrygiannis give tips for the right training:


1. Warming up: It sounds succinct, but it is extremely important to prevent injuries: the muscles should be stretched before training.

"The warm-up helps the participants to get their heads up to the training," explains Schneider.


2. Goals and current state: Do I want to do something for my abdominal muscles?

Or do I have to work out the fitness basics first.

“The first thing to do is analyze the goals and needs,” says Makrygiannis.

The current state of important body data is determined.


3. Training plan: A personal training plan is drawn up based on the goals and data.

"For example, a stomach, legs, buttocks or a Pilates course is the right thing for abdominal muscle training," says Schneider.

Speed ​​strength can be trained in the body attack course.

“For basic training, the fully electronic circuit is used,” adds Makrygiannis.


4. Ailments and problem areas: There are also individual training plans for targeted training, for example in the case of pain.

"Sitting in the home office a lot during Corona often hurts something," says Makrygiannis.

Targeted units can be completed in a circle, as well as with cardiovascular training under supervision.
