Five things you did not know about cats (Walla! News system)
Dogs and cats are the most popular pets, but while with dogs it is easier to communicate and tame them, cats are less "disciplined" and more difficult to interact with.

1. Focus your eyes on them
just as you do with a friend, family member or spouse - keep eye contact with your cat.
Experts say the best way to communicate with a cat is to narrow your eyes when looking at them, just as they do.
They claim that "if you narrow your eyes and look a cat in the eye, it can build the bond with them and help you understand their feelings."
2. Listen to the cat
If you watch the movements that the cat makes and listen to the different sounds he makes, you will notice the difference between his howls.
A short "meow" usually indicates a greeting of peace and if he does several of these in a row - it usually means he is excited.
On the other hand, a long "meow" at a low pitch usually means that the cat is not happy with something.

3. Watch the cat
If you look at your cat's body language, you will be able to identify specific gestures related to its emotions.
For example, if they straighten the tail with a curl at the end, it usually means they are happy.
And if they twist the tail, it probably means they are very excited.
4. Identify communicative behavior
Try to pay attention to a certain behavior of the cat next to you.
For example, if the cat rubs against you, it probably means that he is marking his territory and making you his "property".

Answer the cat
If you respond to your cat in an appropriate tone and make gestures when you notice a certain behavior, you can communicate with him.
The more you try to communicate with the cat, the better he will understand you and the differences between your voice types and behavior.
