Daraa, SANA- Fine arts and music of all kinds lit up the activities of the first day of the Cultural Days event.

Fine arts and music of all kinds lit up the activities of the first day of the Syrian Culture Days event at the Culture Palace in Daraa, in addition to various artistic activities.

These events included exhibitions of fine art and Arabic calligraphy, sculptural works of stones for which Daraa is famous, and the remnants of terrorist missiles that targeted the city.

The Syrian Harmony Choir, led by the musician Safanah Bakla, presented a group of traditional songs, and the poet Lubna Al-Owaihi presented a poetic poem calling for work and hope.

A group of children participated in artistic paintings of expressive dance and folklore, which are the product of the workshops of the Life Skills Development Project for Children and Young People, trained by Alexander Al-Azra’i and Muhammad Al-Rahom.

The first day concluded with a traditional singing and dance performance by the Daraa Folklore Troupe, trained by Hammam Al-Masalma.

The Director of Culture, Adnan Al-Falah, said in a statement to SANA that the activities of the Culture Days address the contemporary and renewable heritage and historical aspects, while highlighting the intellectual aspect through seminars that simulate the challenges of the times.

The calligrapher Issa Qabalan explained that he participated in paintings written in a variety of fonts without focusing on a specific font, with the Thuluth and Diwani scripts taking precedence over some paintings for their great adoption in Arabic calligraphy exhibitions, and the presentation of some paintings in simplified Kufic script.

Plastic artist Saad Shawqi confirmed that the Culture Day event requires the presence of fine art, as he and four artists sought to present an idea of ​​the level of formation in Daraa, pointing out that his participation is a sculptural work, including a piece of the Hourani stone depicting civilization in Syria and a sculpture titled A Fighter’s Rest and another of the Unknown Soldier It will be placed in the Panorama Garden in addition to works symbolizing peace carved from remnants of missiles, rockets and bullet casings.

Plastic artist Muhammad Khair Bakhsh indicated that his paintings express religious brotherhood in Syria and the injustice practiced against women in eastern societies, and a painting entitled “Bakfi” symbolizes the end of the stage of destruction and the beginning of the construction stage, explaining that his paintings were drawn with comfort and fingers without using a feather.

Sahab Abazid pointed out that her participating works talk about the environment and nature in Daraa and the daily suffering of the Syrian citizen in obtaining his basic needs, with paintings of beautiful Syrian faces that are beloved by a group of people.

Muhammad Al-Rahoum, a life skills coach at Tathaqabi Jbab, said: “We presented traditional and folk paragraphs against the background of patriotic songs as a product of workshops to develop life skills for children and adolescents.”
