Schwerin - From Thursday, only those who have been vaccinated and recovered with a negative corona test will have access to many leisure areas in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

These so-called 2G-plus rules take effect because the relevant seven-day hospitalization incidence nationwide was above the threshold of 6.0 on Wednesday, as the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (Lagus) announced.

The number indicates how many people per 100,000 population have been hospitalized with Covid-19 in the last seven days.

The 2G-plus rule will apply nationwide from Thursday to access to restaurants, hotels, swimming pools, cinemas and theaters, for example.

The same applies to visits to cosmetic or tattoo studios.

2G plus also applies to adult sports in the amateur area for spectators and athletes and in the professional area for spectators.

Dance events in clubs and discos are prohibited.

In addition, the 2G rule generally applies to Christmas markets, i.e. access only for vaccinated and convalescent people, but without additional test requirements.

Children under seven years of age are exempt from access restrictions.

Older children up to the age of eleven must have a negative test.

Adolescents between 12 and 17 years of age and pregnant women are also excluded until the end of the year - but these groups must also present a daily negative test.

Exceptions also apply to people who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons.

3G has also been in effect at work, as well as on buses and trains, since Wednesday - i.e. access only for those who have been vaccinated, those who have recovered or who have a negative corona test.

After the resolutions of the Prime Minister's Conference last week, the state government decided on Tuesday to significantly tighten the corona measures.

The background to this is the massive increase in the number of infections and patients.
