A 43-year-old woman was raped and then burned over 30% of her body by two individuals on the night of Tuesday 23 to Wednesday 24 November, in Voiron (Isère), reports

This information from our colleagues was confirmed on Wednesday by the prosecutor of the Republic of Grenoble, Éric Vaillant.

The prosecution has opened an investigation for rape accompanied by torture or acts of barbarism.
These facts are punishable by life imprisonment,

According to information from
Dauphiné Libéré
, the victim spent the evening with two men, whom it is unknown at this stage if she already knew them, before returning to his home with them.
Against a background of alcoholism, the two men abused her and then sprayed her with hydroalcoholic gel.
They then set fire to this product, composed of ethanol and therefore flammable, before escaping.
Burned over 30% of the body, the victim was rushed to the hospital for severe burns in Lyon.
Not having been able to hear the victim, taken in charge by the emergency services, the investigators have not yet been able to reconstruct the precise course of the evening.
