Further mobile vaccination teams, again three vaccination centers and communal vaccination days: the district of Munich is significantly expanding its vaccination capacities.

District

- The district of Munich will once again significantly expand its vaccination capacities in the next few days.

As the district office announced, there will be three inpatient vaccination centers again in the future.

This week, with the BRK and the Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe, two charities will come on board again to provide support.

As early as Saturday, November 27th, the first mobile teams could support the previous vaccination offers of the Malteser Aid Service.

At the same time, two inpatient vaccination programs are being set up.

Planned locations are also this time Oberhaching and Unterschleißheim.

Vaccinated from 29./30.

November use the vaccination drive-in at the Jochen Schweizer Arena on Mondays and Tuesdays.

There are also plans for regular vaccination days in the municipalities.

"Clear the way for the development of further vaccination capacities"

Last Friday, the state government gave the go-ahead for the creation of all vaccination capacities deemed necessary.

"This clears the way in the district for the development of further vaccination capacities and the long-standing discussions with the local charities and other actors have now been converted into official contracts," said the district office.

As early as Tuesday, November 23rd, the district authority said it had issued corresponding orders to Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe and to the BRK.

"With vaccination management in the district office, the associations are currently working flat out on setting up new inpatient vaccination centers," it says.

Vaccination center in Unterschleißheim - but where?

While the tried and tested property on the Keltenring is expected to be used again in Oberhaching, the search for accommodation in Unterschleißheim is on the last legs. The final locations and the scope of operations should be determined in a timely manner.

In addition, the district, he announced, continues to rely on vaccinations close to home.

As a first step, mobile Johanniter teams will probably support the Malteser emergency services with the vaccination bus campaigns from the weekend.

The vaccination drive-in at the Jochen Schweizer Arena in Taufkirchen will also be open again on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Currently, vaccination management in the district office is also planning regular community vaccination days in coordination with the municipalities, which are to be held in available properties on site.

It is also being examined to what extent appointments can also be made via the municipalities for further vaccination bus campaigns in the future, in order to shorten waiting times for those wishing to vaccinate and to relieve the vaccination teams.

Appointments for the vaccination center in Haar

In the meantime, vaccination management in the district office is faced with a new challenge: if sufficient vaccine quantities were available from both Biontech / Pfizer and Moderna, the Federal Ministry of Health is capping the maximum order quantity from this week "despite all practical resistance" for the Biontech vaccine. The district office will therefore significantly increase the order quantities for the vaccine from Moderna with immediate effect in order to be able to serve the needs for first vaccinations, completions and booster vaccinations. In addition, vaccination management will place orders in advance for the vaccination centers in Oberhaching and Unterschleißheim, which will soon be operational. The district office points out that there is no freedom of choice with regard to the vaccine.

Anyone who would like to be vaccinated in the hair vaccination center needs an appointment.

Bookings are best made in the “BayIMCO” registration portal or, alternatively, by calling 089/248 80 66 60.
