Landsberg / Penzing - For the next vaccination turbo: The Landsberg District Office has decided to upgrade the vaccination center (IZ) in Penzing even further.
And that well beyond the level required by the ministry.
Instead of the possible 480 vaccinations, there should soon be up to 1,000 per day.
Next Friday, the vaccination center at the former air base in Penzing will move back to the neighboring building of the old fire station. "There will then be a total of eight vaccination lines available, so that up to 1,000 vaccinations per day will be possible there," explains District Office spokesman Wolfgang Müller. Within a few days, the heating and the sanitary facilities were put back into operation, the interior fittings were completed, the entire IT system from the previous building in the tower was converted, the signage adjusted and the furniture relocated. "This means that the vaccination center in Penzing will be upgraded, at least in terms of infrastructure, to full load operation from Friday."
The limiting factor for some time is the staffing at the vaccination center.
The district authority and Johanniter, as the IZ operator, were increasingly expanding the workforce and hiring, whereby, according to Müller, volunteers are now increasingly being used again.
Also on board is the THW Landsberg;
it is now supporting the vaccination center with four people.
As of next Wednesday, the vaccination center in Penzing will also extend the office hours for making appointments on 08191 / 129-1870: Tuesday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
It is still essential to make an appointment - either by phone or online at BayIMCO.
