When the DAB Legislative Council candidate Liang Xi promoted at Baijie Station in Shau Kei Wan on the 14th of this month, a man wearing a blue vest was suspected of maliciously harassing the street station. The opponent even kicked and injured the hand and Destroyed the candidate's propaganda materials and was arrested afterwards.
The case was presented to the Eastern District Court today (24th). The defense applied for adjournment until December 22nd, pending the provision of information to the prosecution and discussing other ways to handle the case, which was approved by the magistrate.
The defendant was granted bail under the original conditions.
The defendant Fan Junxiong (49 years old, engineer, Chinese nationality), responding in Vietnamese today, was charged with one count of criminal damage and one count of ordinary assault, alleging that he was outside 388 Shau Kei Wan Road, Hong Kong on November 14, 2021 Attacking Wang Zhizhong; and damaging the styrofoam board used for promotion by the Democratic Alliance for the Construction of Hong Kong without legal excuses, with the intention of damaging the property or disregarding whether the property will be damaged.
Liang Xi has signed up for direct elections in Hong Kong Island East. Candidates in the same district include Wu Qiubei, Liao Tiancheng, and Pan Zhuohong.
