Last night, the US space agency NASA launched an unprecedented mission by launching a spacecraft at a speed of 24,000 kilometers per hour to collide with an asteroid in an operation aimed at distorting its path.
And the French press agency quoted the agency as saying in a statement that the spacecraft, which bears the name “Dart”, which means “little arrow” in English, took off from California, carried on a “Falcon 9” rocket from the SpaceX company, and aimed to collide with the asteroid Demoforce in an attempt to deviate its course, explaining that this mission can be carried out. To allow humanity to avoid any space objects from colliding with planet Earth in the future.
In turn, NASA scientist Tom Statler, who is participating in this mission, said in a press conference: "This test will be historic," noting that "for the first time, humanity will change the movement of a natural space object in space."
