"Towards Christmas" this year the nativity trail of the Neufahrn Heimat- und Geschichtsverein leads again between the S-Bahn station and the St. Wilgefortis church.

Neufahrn

- From November 28th (first Sunday in Advent) to January 6th (Holy Three Kings) there are 35 very different Christmas cribs in numerous shop windows on Bahnhofstrasse and Marktplatz.

The birth of Christ is relocated to the foothills of the Alps, to an oriental bazaar, to the Hungarian puszta, to the ghetto of a refugee camp or to the market square in Neufahrn.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Most of the artistically crafted depictions of the birth of Christ come from private collections.

Many of the cribs have been built by the owners themselves.

Helmut Hinterberger, head of the working group Krippenweg in the Heimatverein, built more than ten of the exhibited cribs himself and added a new one this year.

The churches are also involved with their Christmas cribs.

A flyer and an app lead from one day care center to the next.

There will be an ecumenical prayer at the opening

For the opening of the Nativity Scene, Pastor Karin Jordak and Pastor Otto Steinberger will organize an ecumenical prayer on Saturday, November 27th at 5 p.m., framed with folk music, in the Protestant Church of the Resurrection.

The current corona rules and a mask requirement apply.
