Rottenbuch - The Schönegger Käsealm wants to implement three new themed trails in Rottenbuch.
Junior boss Andreas Krönauer broke ground on Thursday.
“Roter Erpftinger”, “Himbsels Rambur”, “Kesseltaler Streifling” and other apple varieties that were previously known in the region are to be planted - the goal is an apple themed trail. Georg Schilcher, Chairman of the Wildsteig Fruit and Horticultural Association, helped with the selection of the local apple varieties and with the procurement of the necrotic vines. "For me this is a very special project, as ten different apple varieties that come directly from the region have now been planted in one place," he said happily. “A nice contribution to the preservation of these varieties that cannot be bought in any tree nursery.” In addition to the apple path, the Schönegger Käse-Alm is also creating a bees and game nature trail. Two red deer and females moved into the enclosure a few weeks ago."We are realizing these themed trails as part of our EMAS project," explains Andreas Krönauer. The nature trails are to be opened in early summer.
