The police believe it has been arson and are looking for witnesses. 

Erlangen - Tuesday night (November 23), two police patrol vehicles were completely burned out on the premises of a vehicle inspection station in Günther-Scharowsky-Strasse in Erlangen-Bruck *.

At around 11:45 p.m., witnesses called the fire brigade because they noticed the flames in the cars, as reported by the Central Franconia Police Headquarters *. 

Erlangen: Flames cause total write-offs 

The fire brigade in Erlangen was able to quickly extinguish the burning cars, but the vehicles could no longer be saved.

The damage to property is estimated at around 90,000 euros.

The two destroyed vehicles of the BMW brand were former emergency vehicles of the Central Franconian police, which had been returned after the leasing contract expired and were therefore parked on the premises of the vehicle inspection center.

Erlangen: Police expect arson 

According to initial findings, the police assume arson.

Search measures initiated in the area around the crime scene were unsuccessful.

The Erlangen criminal police are now investigating and asking for evidence from witnesses.
