In addition, according to the RKI, the nationwide seven-day incidence rose to over 400 for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic on Wednesday morning. The institute stated the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants per week at 404.5.
For comparison: the previous day the value was 399.8, a week ago it was 319.5 (previous month: 106.3).
The health authorities in Germany reported 66,884 new corona infections to the RKI within one day - compared to 52,826 infections exactly one week ago.
This is evident from the numbers that reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 4:05 a.m.

According to the new information, 335 deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours.
A week ago there were 294 deaths.
The RKI has counted 5,497,795 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.
The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not recognized.
The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days was given by the RKI on Tuesday at 5.60 (Monday: 5.28).
The value plays an essential role in assessing the occurrence of the infection.
