Munich - The rush is huge: "It's crazy how many people want to test themselves again," says Hans-Georg Stocker, who is not only backstage boss, but also runs the Corona * test center in Munich * West.

After the free tests were abolished, the demand fell sharply.

But now it is shooting up again.

Those who come to the test center without an appointment often have to wait, reports Stocker: “Sometimes there are long queues.” He plans to expand the range next week.

“You can't do that right away,” he says.

"You also need the staff."

For tests "register 24 hours in advance"

This is also pointed out by Johanniter spokesman Gerhard Bieber.

“We're trying to rework,” he says.

“But there is also a capacity limit.” Anyone who urgently needs a test at a certain time should book an appointment with the Johanniter test centers in good time.

“Registering 24 hours in advance is always a good idea,” he explains.

"It also helps to bring the completed documents with you."

At the test sites of the Sun Health Center - for example at the Deutsches Museum and the Transport Center of the Deutsches Museum - it is advisable to make an online appointment in advance.

There are only PCR tests there - more of them are also needed.

"There are many more contact persons and more positive rapid tests have to be clarified," explains Michael Scheef.

But at least: “We still have room for improvement.” He expects a further increase before Christmas.

"Many want to be on the safe side."

Tests as access restriction also for vaccinated people "a great burden"

Another reason for the increased demand for tests is that vaccinated people also need a rapid test for many activities.

This also includes, for example, a visit to the gym.

“It's difficult for the industry,” complains Martine Praktiek, General Manager of the Body Up Studios in Giesing * and at Ostbahnhof.

“The restricted access is a huge burden for members and employees,” she reports.

"The hurdle to get into the studio is very high." The consequence is also that athletes terminate their contracts.
