As the police reported, the 92-year-old pensioner made a confused and disoriented impression when he was stopped by police officers in Sonthofen because of his unsafe driving style and a traffic accident.
Witnesses had alerted the police, as the man was driving his car along Oberstdorfer Strasse despite the darkness without lights and brushing against the exterior mirror of a parked car.
After the accident, the 92-year-old drove in a serpentine way and also ran over a red traffic light at the intersection at the Allgäu Outlet.
A patrol finally ended the man's drive in Blumenstrasse.
As a precaution, the officials on site took the vehicle key into custody.
