On Wednesday morning, the long-awaited verdict of the Paris Court of Appeal in the Adidas case fell: Stéphane Richard, the CEO of the telecoms operator, is sentenced to one year in prison.
He immediately proposed his resignation to the Board of Directors.
He will perform his duties until the establishment of new governance by January 31, 2022 at the latest.

The court decision which ends ten years of Stéphane Richard's presidency was initially due on October 6.
But the death of Bernard Tapie three days earlier had prompted the Court to postpone it.
The disappearance of the businessman has ended the prosecution against him, not those against his co-defendants.
Stéphane Richard was prosecuted for having approved an arbitration favorable to Bernard Tapie against Credit Lyonnais in 2008. The boss of Orange was then chief of staff of Christine Lagarde, Minister of the Economy.
