The new division will be established in the city of Los Angeles, and the goal is to present the range of games and creations of Hideo Kojima beyond the world of gaming, to popular culture and the general public.
The new division will be led by Riley Russell, who has held senior positions at Sony for 28 years and served as Director of Legal and Contracts and Deputy Director of PlayStation Business.
Kojima Productions' business development director, Yoshiko Fukuda, commented on the announcement, noting: "The new department will take the entire studio to new districts and present creative narrative ideas beyond computer games, and it will open us to a new audience that can delve deeper and feel invested in the new worlds we create."
