The fear of the 1000 incidence: Businesspeople concerned about the risk of lockdown - "A disaster!"

Many business owners are worried about the next corona lockdown.

If the incidence jumps over the 1000 mark, many would have to close their stores.

That's what they say about it.

Miesbach - Even if the incidence in the district has decreased in the past week, concerns about the next lockdown are worrying many business owners.

If the incidence jumps over the 1000 mark, according to the new Corona rules, many restaurateurs, retailers and service providers would have to close their shops within a few days - and for an indefinite period, until the incidence falls again.

Corona in Bavaria: 1000s incidence - business people fear the next lockdown

Our editors talked to six business people from the district about how they are dealing with this challenge.

What do the new rules mean for restaurateurs, gym owners and pensioners?

How do you plan when everything can change at short notice?

Is it still worth it for them to open?

What are your worries, what do you want?

The answers show a lot in common and some differences: All of the people we talked to reported about rejections, business failures and difficult times.

Some appeal to people: “Get vaccinated!” One has already closed her shop as a precaution and, like last winter, switched to take-away.

In our corona update on page 10, we have summarized the current corona situation in the district.

New corona lockdown soon?

"More common sense from everyone"

Herbert Rehmer, Fitness & Health Dr.

Rehmer, Gmund and Holzkirchen:

We have to further differentiate the tightening in our operations.

As soon as the incidences are longer than 1000, we will have to close for our gym guests, but the rehab sport can still take place.

This leads to the fact that some guests feel that they are being treated unfairly if they are allowed to continue exercising and they are not.

Overall, the situation is very threatening for our industry.

I would like more people to get vaccinated.

A few of my co-workers are still unvaccinated.

I was able to convince some of them.

In this situation, a greater sense of responsibility is required from society as a whole as well as from politics.

We need a higher vaccination rate, but also more caution and common sense from everyone.

New Corona rules: Cafe closes - "It just doesn't work anymore"

We had already decided to remain closed from this Monday to offer meals, coffee and cake to take away.

There are several reasons for this: Because of the requirements, few guests come, it is not worth opening.

With so many requirements, it is also difficult not to go wrong.

We have always tried our best, but it just doesn't work anymore.

We'd rather close, maybe in a month it'll have calmed down.

The new rules now make it even more difficult.

Maybe it has to close suddenly within a few days.

That is almost impossible to plan.

We have now closed voluntarily for the first time.

That was a difficult decision.

But I think we made good decisions in this new exceptional situation and we have received positive feedback.

Corona in Miesbach: "Gentle lockdown" for pension - many rejections, hardly any bookings

It's a gentle lockdown: a lot of rejections, hardly any bookings.

And the question of government support is open.

It is very difficult for us to calculate.

We only have five bookings by December 23rd and the phone is silent.

November is generally weaker, but now many fitters are also being dropped because their assignments are not absolutely necessary.

Unvaccinated people have to present a PCR test if they want to stay overnight.

That is why we regularly telephone after online bookings so that the guests also take note of this and do not stand in front of the door in the evening without a test.

I have to understand, because it has been proven that there are hardly any contagions in the hotel industry if a hygiene concept is in place and is strictly implemented.

But checking that happened too late.

Nothing shocks me anymore.

I only care about the employees, that I can pay them.

But business has stalled anyway.

Conferences and training courses have been canceled, Christmas parties will not take place.

On Monday we occupied 14 rooms, three weeks ago there were 42. 28 canceled, mostly corporate customers.

Another group has just canceled 25 rooms.

With the editions you have no chance of making money.

Whether we're not doing business now and still open or not doing business and locking up - I don't know which is better.

If I could wish for something?

Then that people get vaccinated.

The topic was missed in the summer, so we should have accelerated.

We have to stick together and I am grateful to everyone who stands by us.

It's a disaster!

You don't know your way around anymore.

Every day we check the Internet to see what has been ordered, and you can no longer get through to the district office by phone anyway.

We have been 2G since last week anyway, which has meant that there was less going on than usual. Because we now have to close at 10 p.m., there are further cancellations of tables that have already been reserved.

We are nine people here at the moment, four in service and five in the kitchen.

I myself help in every nook and cranny.

Only one person is responsible for the controls at the entrance.

I look to the next few weeks with worry and fear and am already thinking of only opening up at noon and only offering the rest to go.

Even if 80 percent of my regular guests are vaccinated, I can only appeal to everyone else: finally get vaccinated!

Corona in Bavaria: "People are getting more and more anxious"

The past few weeks have been terrifying and I have to say that people are getting more and more anxious.

My customers think it is correct that I have been working with 2G rules for two weeks.

Most of them are vaccinated, and those who cancel their appointment are probably using an excuse.

All in all, I'm very angry, because I had no income from the past seven months of lockdowns and only state aid.

If it all starts all over again, then I really don't know whether I can go through it again.

Because unlike in production, we cannot process orders and flip the switch again after the start.

It's difficult in my industry, we have to build trust again and fight for customers.

I have to say that it actually looks bleak.
