In July 2022, the hAMMERsound festival is scheduled to take place again in Peißenberg.
Bands who would like to perform there can apply now.
District
- After the successful premiere in 2018, the second hAMMERsound festival is planned for July 2022.
The live act is organized by the local youth work in the Weilheim-Schongau district office in cooperation with the youth centers in the district and the district youth council.
"The hAMMERSOUND festival four years ago was a great success and we all had great fun," says Annika Seif, district youth worker at the local youth work.
“We want to build on this success with the second edition in 2022.
We are now looking for bands from the district who want to get a taste of the concert atmosphere on a big stage. "
Jury selects musicians for the hAMMERsound festival at a band contest
The festival is preceded by a district-wide band contest, to which young musicians can apply immediately.
Provided that they meet a few criteria: At least one band member must be under the age of 27, their own music program of 30 minutes (no cover songs) must be available and a band member must be from the Weilheim-Schongau district or the surrounding area (70 km as the crow flies around Peißenberg).
With the band contest, the organizers want to get the music scene in the district going again.
"That would be a great experience for young people, especially after the pandemic," said Seif.
It can also be used to give young musicians the opportunity to gain live experience again.
On three Saturdays in spring 2022 there will be a band contest evening each with three bands from the applications.
A jury made up of young people, employees from the district youth council or youth centers, local youth work as well as local politicians, press representatives and musicians will decide together with the audience on site which musicians will emerge as winners.
hAMMERsound Festival on July 29th in Peißenberg
The three winners (bands) will then be on the hAMMERsound stage in July 2022 and will also receive a music workshop from the pop music commissioner from the Upper Bavaria district, Matthias Fischer.
The winners four years ago were The Compromise Show, Under Attic and Roadstring Army.
The second hAMMERsound Festival will take place on July 29th in Peißenberg on the fairground.
In addition to live music and a skate contest, there is also the opportunity for young people to find out about their professional opportunities on the “trainee mile”, where training companies in the region present themselves.
