The General Film Organization released the feature film, The Last Breakfast, written and directed by Abdel Latif Abdel Hamid, in a special show within the activities of the Syrian Culture Days, in the Drama Hall of Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts.

The film, produced by the General Film Organization in 2019, and starring Abdel Moneim Amayri and Canada Hanna, along with a number of other artists, presents deep human worlds about the loss of people and places due to war, so that memory plays its game in evoking the absent and bringing it back to life in a way that is not without a magical atmosphere.

Director Abdel Hamid, who recently recovered from a health illness, directed a tired voice through his speech before showing the film, thanking all the work staff and said: “I am glad that I am among you today in the special screening of the movie The Last Breakfast, after it was delayed due to the Corona pandemic,” recalling his late wife Raisa Abdel Hamid, who was Partner in the film industry in the field of fashion design.

Murad Shaheen, Director General of the General Film Organization, said in a statement to SANA that the presence of cinema in the celebration of the days of Syrian culture reflects the importance of the seventh art in shaping a cultural scene close to people, including the films of director Abdel Hamid, which constitute a unique Syrian cinematic case that carries a magic that remains in the hearts of those who follow it until It became part of the memory of Syrian cinema.

The film, which won the Best Screenplay Award at the 37th Alexandria Film Festival recently, co-starred with artists Karam El Shaarani, Rama Issa, Youssef Moqbel, Pedros Barsoumian, Mohamed Khawandi, Majed Issa, Abdel Salam Ghaibour, and guests of honor Mohsen Ghazi, Nasser Wardiani and Mohamed Shamma.

The film's technical card included general supervision, Murad Shaheen, director of photography and lighting Tariq bin Abdullah, production supervisor Basil Abdullah, production director Wael Younes, director of Mudar Ibrahim outlet, production implementation by Habib Habib and Hassan Ghanem, fashion design by Larissa Abdel Hamid, decor by Adham Minawi, editing and color correction, graphic Raouf Zaza and music by Khaled Rizk.
