Iran has announced the start of clinical studies for the (Cove Iran Pract) anti-Coronavirus vaccine for the age group between 12 and 18 years.
And the Iranian Fars news agency quoted the director of clinical studies for the vaccine, Mino Mahrez, as saying, “The vaccination of the (Berket) vaccine for the first 4 volunteers began last week, and in the first stage, the vaccine will be given to 60 eligible adolescents,” noting that the participants in the clinical tests are from the age group between 12 and 18. Years old will receive a 5-mcg dose as adults.
Mehrez pointed out that according to international standards and after producing each vaccine, it must first be tested on the age group from 18 to 75 years before being tested on the younger group, which was done by Iran, where three phases of clinical tests were conducted on 22,000 adults and no side effects appeared. In addition, there was very good efficacy and immunity as a result of the homemade (Berket) vaccine.
