The head of the vaccination center in Peißenberg, Christian Achmüller, is watching the current development with some concern.
“In the middle of last week I had such a grumble in my stomach that we run into a vaccine shortage again.
This has now been confirmed, ”he said in an interview with the local newspaper.
He said on Monday evening he had not received any feedback from the pharmacy that supplies the vaccination center as to how much the Biontech orders would be reduced.
3,000 cans have been ordered, and rumors have spread.
There is talk of a maximum of 1000 or even only 500 cans.
Sure, “Moderna” is available in sufficient quantities.
But this vaccine “nobody knows because it has so far been administered almost exclusively in the vaccination centers,” says Achmüller.

For Achmüller, the fixation on the Biontech vaccine while capping the delivery quantity is a problem. Because the need for vaccinations is currently huge again. Anyone who tries to make an appointment at the vaccination center now usually has to wait until mid-January - and the trend is growing rapidly.
A pharmacist complained about the work of the vaccination center.
It could not be acceptable that there were only two vaccination rooms in operation, she said.
“That's not true,” replies Achmüller.
Last week, three vaccination rooms were usually in operation, plus the mobile teams that are on duty.
"But we can also just inoculate the vaccine that is delivered - that is currently the limiting element," says Achmüller.
On Saturday evening, when the vaccination center closed, there were just twelve Biontech cans left.
There is simply no point in occupying more vaccination rooms if there is not enough vaccine.
And if the pharmacists complain about the sluggish course of the vaccination campaign, "then maybe they should deal with the suggestion, which has been discussed for weeks, that they too should take part in the vaccination campaign," said the head of the Peißenberg vaccination center.
