Now different possibilities are to be discussed at a traffic show with experts and affected organizations.
It's about road safety at the intersection of Dorfstrasse / Fasanenstrasse at the Maibaum in Vaterstetten.
This has already been discussed in the past.
Again the topic was the situation in the citizens' meeting.
This resulted in an application for review that was submitted jointly by all parliamentary groups in the municipal council.
Dangerous situations every day
Among other things, it says: Dangerous situations for all road users that can be experienced there every day are complained about.
Citizens repeatedly expose themselves to a considerable risk of accidents when crossing the intersection.
In particular, cyclists and pedestrians are at risk.
But motorists were also “taking a greater risk because of the confusion of the intersection”.
The reason for the joint advance of the municipal councils is that the elected representatives are obliged to remedy grievances, "especially if they endanger life and limb".
In this case it is more difficult because the village road is a district road.
"Nevertheless, we hope that, in cooperation with the district authority, a solution can be found and implemented that eliminates this unnecessary source of danger or at least decisively defuses it," so the wording.
In an earlier statement from the District Office submitted to the meeting of the building committee, however, it says: “We have evaluated the official accident figures.
These were very inconspicuous.
(...) Fortunately, we have almost no accidents here. ”This assessment is maintained by the district administration even after current consultation, according to the Vaterstetten town hall.
Accidents with injuries and a lot of property damage
Figures from previous years can also be found in the documents for the meeting.
Reference is made to an accident with a seriously injured motorcyclist in 2017, four traffic accidents in 2019, one with a slightly injured person, two with property damage (right-of-way violations) and one minor accident, two traffic accidents, one with a seriously injured cyclist in 2020 but fell without outside participation, as well as a traffic accident in 2021 with a seriously injured cyclist and a slightly injured person.
